New Delhi, Apr 23: Vice President Hamid Ansari will embark on a five-day visit to Armenia and Poland from tomorrow, aimed at strengthening India’s relations with the two countries.
On the first leg of his visit, Dr Ansari will be in Armenia till April 26, MEA Secretary (East) Preeti Saran told reporters here.
Dr Ansari will be accompanied by his wife Salma Ansari and a parliamentary delegation that would include Union Minister of State for Small, Medium & Micro Industries Giriraj Singh, Parliamentarians Sitaram Yechury, D P Tripathi, Vivek Tankha and Thupstan Chhewang besides senior officials.
During his trip and stay at the Armenian capital Yerevan, Dr Ansari will hold discussions with Armenian President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister.
MEA officials say that the visit to Armenia by the Vice President intends to further strengthen the cordial relation between the two countries.
