New Delhi, Apr 5: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today congratulated the members, Ministers and especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing the process of passing the Union Budget before April 1.
“In the history of Independent India, for the first time, the Budget process has been completed by April 1.
It is an historic opportunity,” Ms Mahajan said soon after the House met in the morning.
She said with this “an important tradition has been started”.
Now that the entire process has been completed by March 31, this will help the government and various departments plan their expenditures well in advance.
