Srinagar: The City Municipal Commissioner Srinagar on Friday said Srinagar Municipal Corporation has arranged all chemical required for sanitization and sterlisation as part of the measures taken prevent to spread of cornonovirus (COVID-19). He also said vegetable markets shall remain open in the city in the morning hours till 11.00 A.M.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday the city municipal commissioner said in order to control the Coronovirus (COVID-19) disease and to aware the general public of the Srinagar City said the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has arranged all required chemicals to be used for sanitization and sterilization and also got some chemicals from Delhi by air. Saying that Corporation has designed special teams to sterilize and sanitize the Srinagar City, the City Municipal Commissioner said officers and officials of the corporation are working day and night despite deficiency of manpower and has utilized latest equipments for the purpose.
The city municipal commissioner said a number of meetings were held with traders, bankers, transporters, managements of Private Hospitals, Imamas, and some other organizations Thursday this week and it was unanimously decided that all the shops, business establishments except the Pharmacies, essential commodities and groceries will remain closed provided they will make facility of sanitization and washing of hands outside their shops for the customers and bankers and private hospitals. Announcing that Fruit Mandi Parimpora and other vegetable markets shall remain open till 11.00 A.M. in the morning subject to the precautionary measures to be taken by the traders, the City Municipal Commissioner appealed the people to cooperate with the authorities to jointly tackle the Coronovirous threat in the Srinagar City.
