Says “Security Architecture Strengthened Along Borders And Hinterland”
Jammu | October, 21: Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone) Tejinder Singh on Wednesday announced that security forces will escalate offensive operations against remaining terrorists, their support networks, and cross-border narco-terror syndicates.
Talking to reporters on Police Commemoration Day, Singh affirmed that security grids along the Line of Control, International Border, and interior areas are being fortified to ensure long-term stability across Jammu and Kashmir.
“In the coming days, our efforts will focus on targeting the terror ecosystem and neutralising the remaining terrorists,” he said, noting that while local terror recruitment has dropped significantly over the past two years, relentless pressure will be maintained on support facilitators.
Addressing cross-border threats, the IGP stated that action against narcotics trafficking will involve property attachments and asset seizures. “Those involved in the drug trade, particularly heroin coming from Pakistan, are no less dangerous than terrorists,” he noted, urging public cooperation in providing timely intelligence.
He added that an extra security layer has been placed several kilometers inside border areas alongside the BSF to counter drone-dropped contraband, while surveillance on organized criminal networks remains tight, officials said.
