Ang: The District Election Officer Anantnag Khalid Jahangir Monday convened a meeting of the officers to review the assured minimum facilities (AMF) at polling stations.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, ADCs, JD Planning, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE & PDD, Executive Officer MC Anantnag, and EROs & AEROs.
It was given out in the meeting that 189 ramps are under construction in the polling stations by RDD for the specially-abled voters. The DEO directed the RDD to gear up the machinery and complete all under construction ramps immediately.
The R&B Department was asked to take up the execution of ramps in municipal areas. With regard to drinking water facilities, the Executive Engineers of PHE Division Qazigund and Bijbehara were directed to provide drinking water facilities in all polling stations within week’s time. The DPO Anantnag was directed to ensure that all polling stations must have functional toilets. Likewise, PDD Department was directed to complete electrification of polling stations within two days by using quality were material.
The DEO emphasised upon all the officers to ensure AMFs within time frame so that voters can exercise their franchisee.
