CBK files chargesheet in multi-lakh job fraud case

Srinagar: The Special Crime Wing Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a major job fraud case, accusing three men of duping people of lakhs on the promise of government jobs, officials said.
They said the accused posed as influential officials and issued fake appointment orders, exposing a well-organised scam now before a Srinagar court for trial.
In a statement issued here on Friday a spokesperson said the Special Crime Wing Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar in FIR No. 09/2019 under Sections 201, 419, 420, 468, 471, 120-B RPC against Fayaz Ahmad Khan S/o Gul Khan R/o Maloora Shalteng Srinagar, Showkat Ahmad Shah So Mohammad Yaseen Shah R/o Shanzipora Handwara and Owais Ahmad Rather S/o Assadullah Rather Ro Shalteng Khwaja Bagh in connection with a multi-lakh government job scam, following a detailed investigation into allegations of fraud and forgery.
“The case originated from a complaint by residents of Pulwama, alleging that the accused fraudulently obtained lakhs of rupees on the pretext of securing government jobs for the children and relatives of complainants.”
It reads, investigations revealed that the accused, acting in criminal conspiracy, posed as influential officials and issued forged appointment orders purportedly from the Forest Department, later confirmed to be fake.
The spokesperson said payments were allegedly taken in cash under the guise of “backdoor entry.” The challan has been presented before the Hon’ble competent court for judicial determination.
He said the general public is advised to remain vigilant against fraudsters and report any such incidents directly to SSP SCW Kashmir (Crime Branch J&K). If you have been a victim of fraud, you may
