J&K Sports Council organising Open Selection Trials for Khelo India Tribal Games-2026

Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has announced the conduct of Phase-I Open Selection Trials to identify the J&K contingent in different sports disciplines for participation in the upcoming Khelo India Tribal Games-2026, scheduled to be held at Chhattisgarh.

The trials are being organized for domicile athletes of Jammu & Kashmir belonging to the Tribal Community in the disciplines of Athletics, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Hockey and Football. Eligible players have been advised to report at the designated venues as per the schedule with all requisite documents.

It is being termed as a huge opportunity for aspiring athletes from tribal communities to showcase their talent and earn the chance to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the national level, while competing alongside the best athletes from across the country.

Interested athletes must produce their Domicile Certificate, Tribal Community Certificate and Aadhaar Card at the time of trials.

The Trail for Football is scheduled on January 23, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Football Ground, Mini Stadium Parade Ground Jammu. Sportsperson can Contact- Majid Yousuf, Executive Officer (Football) on Mob: 9419010038.

For Athletics, scheduled on January 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Athletic Track Jammu University, sportspersons can Contact Gurcharan Singh, Sr. Athletic Coach – Mob: 7006341648.

For Hockey Trails, scheduled on January 24, 2026 at 3:00 pm at K.K. Hakku Stadium, Jammu, Sportspersons can Contact Dr. Taran Singh, General Secretary Hockey J&K – Mob: 9149728002

For Weightlifting Trails, scheduled on January 24, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Weightlifting Hall, Jammu University, the sportspersons can contact Ravi Singh, Sr. Weightlifting Coach – Mob: 9419136667.

For Wrestling Trails, scheduled on January 27, 2026 at 11:00 am at Wrestling Hall Jammu University, Sportspersons can contact Jai Bharat, General Secretary, J&K Wrestling Association – Mob: 8899790423

The trials shall be conducted under the supervision of technical officials and coaches of the respective disciplines. No TA/DA shall be admissible to the athletes for participation in the selection trials.
