Srinagar | : Kulgam Police on Friday successfully concluded the Shaheed Aman Kumar Thakur Memorial T20 and T10 Cricket Tournaments as part of the Civic Action Programme.
The events, held at the Mini Stadium Kulgam, aimed to honor the memory of martyr Shaheed Aman Kumar Thakur and promote youth engagement in positive activities. The tournaments, inaugurated by SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, featured a knockout format with participation from various teams across District Kulgam. The closing ceremony was attended by a significant number of players, sports enthusiasts, civil society members, and police officials, with SSP Kulgam serving as the chief guest. In his address, he underscored the importance of sports in cultivating discipline, unity, and resilience among the youth. He reiterated the commitment of J&K Police to support young talent through sports, cultural, and educational initiatives, emphasizing the need to channel youth energy into constructive pursuits. During the event, trophies, medals, and cash prizes were awarded to the winning and runner-up teams, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
