Baramulla: Varmul Gindo 2025 is not just a sports event—it is a vibrant celebration of youth, energy, and community spirit in the district of Baramulla. Launched with great enthusiasm, this month-long multi-sport festival is a joint initiative of the J&K Sports Council, District Sports Association Baramulla, and the Indian Army. The festival aims to promote athletic excellence, foster unity, and engage the community through spirited and healthy competition.
With over 1,600 participants competing across more than 20 sports disciplines, the event has brought together schools, sports clubs, and enthusiasts from every corner of the district. The tournament officially kicked off on June 17 with a thrilling volleyball match between Elite Club and Khelo India at the Showkat Ali Indoor Stadium. Elite Club clinched a 3–1 victory in front of a spirited crowd, setting the tone for the exciting weeks ahead.
The following days saw intense snooker and volleyball action. On June 18, snooker matches began at B-Town Club, where Azam defeated Ahmad and Mohammad Zaid triumphed over Azhar. On June 19, Salman beat Anees, and Azam secured another win by overcoming Sajad. In volleyball, Elite Club continued its dominant run with a 3–0 win against Welkins.
The momentum carried forward on June 20, with more gripping snooker fixtures. Zaid defeated Amir in Match 1, while Momin got the better of Reyaz in Match 2. Both matches showcased the rising talent and growing interest in cue sports in the region.
On June 21, another electrifying volleyball showdown took place between Elite Club and Spartan Baramulla. In a tightly contested four-set match, Elite Club emerged victorious once again, maintaining its unbeaten streak in the tournament.
The festival has drawn enthusiastic crowds to each venue, with spectators turning out in large numbers to support their local heroes. From the quiet focus around snooker tables to the echoing cheers across volleyball courts, Varmul Gindo 2025 is successfully weaving a fabric of unity, passion, and sportsmanship throughout Baramulla.
