Doda: An impactful environmental awareness programme was organized on Saturday at Khalleni by Live For Others-Being Helpful Foundation (NGO) in collaboration with 48 Rashtriya Rifles and Talla Jewellers.
The initiative was supported by New Standard Higher Secondary School Khalleni, Government HSS Khalleni and Navdurga Parbandhan Committee Dedhni.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He flagged off the programme, which aimed at educating the public about the importance of cleanliness and sustainable waste management.
In his address, the DC emphasized the vital role that every individual plays in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He stressed the need for proper waste collection, segregation and recycling and highlighted how a healthy environment contributes to improved livelihoods, better lifestyles and cognitive development, particularly among children.
Certificates of appreciation were presented by the NGO to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for their valuable support and participation in the programme.
The awareness drive saw active participation from Tehsildar, BDO, principals, school staff, students, NGOs, and local residents, creating a strong message of collective responsibility toward environmental conservation.
