Srinagar: The Traffic Police authorities in Srinagar issued a traffic advisory for October 29 (Tuesday) in wake of the “Run for Unity” event, which will take place from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
“The run, starting from SKICC and concluding at the Botanical Garden, is expected to attract VIPs and participants from various backgrounds. To manage traffic flow and avoid congestion, certain routes will be restricted during the event,” reads an advisory.
It states that restricted routes include traffic on Boulevard Road, stretching from Lalit Ghat to Kralsangri, which will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Motorists heading towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan should take the alternate route via Dalgate, Rainawari, and Hazratbal.
“For travel from Harwan, Shalimar, and Nishat towards Lal Chowk, the Foreshore-Hazratbal route is advised instead of the Nishat-Boulevard Road axis. Travelers from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak, and surrounding areas are advised to use the Habak-Dargah Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk,” it reads.
Participants are encouraged to park only in designated areas, including the Police Golf Course, Royal Spring Golf Course, Jet Ski point, Botanical Garden, and Barista near Lalit Ghat. Parking along the roadside is prohibited, and any wrongly parked vehicles will be towed,” reads the advisory.
Additionally, “emergency vehicles will be given priority to take the shortest route as needed. For assistance, citizens can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103. The Traffic Police apologizes for any inconvenience caused,” the advisory reads
