Gusty winds damage power infra, affect power supply in Qazigund belt

Heavy rains hampering restoration process; Teams on job to restore power supply at earliest: AEE PDD

Kulgam: The gusty winds on Monday afternoon evening damaged power infrastructure in many areas of Qazigund belt, affecting the electricity supply in most of the areas even as the Power Development Department (PDD) said that the teams were on job to repair the lines.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) PDD, Sub Division Qazigund, Mohd Yousuf Mir said many lines have got damaged due to strong winds in the afternoon, thereby affecting electricity in most parts of the areas in Qazigund belt. “Teams of the PDD have been pressed into the service to repair these lines in the shortest possible time, and power supply will be restored as soon as possible”, he said, adding heavy rains were hampering the restoration process”,
