New Delhi: The Congress on Sunday demanded a comprehensive discussion on issues like NEET paper leak, unemployment, inflation, farmers issues, UPSC controversies, worsening railway safety, and Agnipath Scheme among others on the eve of the Budget Session.

According to Congress sources, deputy leader of the party in Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, during the all-party meeting called by the government here, also raised the issue of giving the post of Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker to the Opposition. He also referred to the “deliberate attempts” at polarisation in states like Uttar Pradesh by passing “unconstitutional” orders.

He accused the government of “misusing power” and the central agencies “arbitrarily”.

Later talking to the media in the Parliament House complex, the party’s Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari, said traditionally all-party meeting is held so that the proceedings of the House run smoothly and the opposition parties get full opportunity to raise issues related to the public. .

He said, “We want to discuss in the House issues like inflation, unemployment, farmers’ issues, rigging in the medical entrance exam NEET. Apart from this, we will make every effort to discuss the security situation of the country and the challenges on our border with China. We also want discussions on the removal of statues of great men installed in the Parliament House complex, farmers, Manipur and issues of environmental concerns.

He said the party will also raise issues like ongoing violence in Jammu-Kashmir, Manipur and those related to the people.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed that in the all-party meeting, Janata Dal (United) raised the issue of giving special status to Bihar. Similarly, as a strategy, not the government constituent, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), but the YSR Congress raised the issue of giving special status to Andhra Pradesh. UNI
