Srinagar: President Droupadi Murmu, in a solemn ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, conferred 10 Kirti Chakras and 26 Shaurya Chakras to commendable individuals from the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and State/Union Territory Police. Among them, seven Kirti Chakras and seven Shaurya Chakras were awarded posthumously, underscoring the valor and sacrifice displayed by these brave souls.
Kirti Chakra Recipients: The Kirti Chakra recipients include Inspector Dilip Kumar Das from CoBRA, CRPF; Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadava and Constable Bablu Radha from CRPF; Sambhu Roy and Sepoy Pawan Kumar from The Grenadiers 55th Battalion, Rashtriya Rifles; Captain Anshuman Singh; Havaldar Abdul Majid; Major Digvijay Singh Rawat; Major Deependra Vikram Basnet; and Naib Subedar Pawan Kumar Yadav. Among the Shaurya Chakra awardees were Constable Safiullah Qadri from Jammu and Kashmir Police; Major Vikas Bhambhu and Major Mustafa Bohara from the Army; Rifleman Kulbushan Manta from the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, 52nd Battalion; Havildar Vivek Singh Tomar; Rifleman Alok Rao from 18 Assam Rifles; Captain MV Pranjal from The Corps of Signals, 63rd Battalion, Rashtriya Rifles; and others who displayed exceptional courage in the face of adversity. Additionally, the Shaurya Chakra was awarded to VDC member Shri Parshotam Kumar of Rajouri.

He also extended his thanks to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their unwavering support to the force. The Ministry of Defence had announced the Shaurya Chakras for these brave hearts on Independence Day 2023 and Republic Day 2024. “Awards inspire others to demonstrate similar courage and dedication, serving as powerful role models for future generations.
