New Delhi: The Congress said on Sunday the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ should be called a ‘Maafinama’ as it failed to fulfil a single issue promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government during the last 10 years.

Congress leaders Pawan Khera, Supriya Shrinate, and Amitabh Dubey addressed a press conference at the AICC headquarters here.

Chairman, Media & Publicity Department of AICC, Pawan Khera, said, “This Sankalp Patra should be called ‘Maafinama’. The Prime Minister should apologise to the Dalits, farmers, youth, and tribals of the country for not fulfilling the promise made in the BJP’s manifesto during his 10-year rule.”

“The PM had promised to bring back the black money by forming a task force, but electoral bonds came in its place. He promised to strengthen law and order in the Northeast, but violence happened in Manipur, which is continuing, and the PM is silent over it, and poverty has increased,” Khera alleged.

“Another Jumla by the PM was to build 100 new smart cities, but China is building smart villages on the border. The people of the country are fed up with these false promises of the Modi government,” Khera added.

Chairperson of Social Media and Digital Platforms of AICC, Supriya Shrinate, said, “We decided on the formation of the manifesto committee in December 2023, and all the suggestions of the people were taken during the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The BJP, on the other hand, formed a manifesto committee on January 30 and came up with a ‘copy-paste’ ‘Jumla Patra’ in just 13 days.’

Taking the BJP on the issue of ‘unemployment’, Shrinate said the BJP’s manifesto mentions jobs just twice, whereas the Congress manifesto talks about providing 30 lakh permanent jobs to the youth and giving stipends of Rs one lakh to graduates.’

She said the BJP’s manifesto does not make any mention of Manipur or how far China has entered Indian territory, the doubling of farmers’ income, MSP, inflation, Ladakh, or women’s issues.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Dudey said there was no improvement in the health, education, or agriculture sectors.
