Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s nomination affidavit says his income declines

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP-led NDA candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who disclosed a taxable income of Rs 680 crore for FY 2021–22, has claimed that his income sharply declined from Rs 10.8 crore in 2018–19 to Rs 5.6 lakh in 2022–23.

In his nomination affidavit, the Union IT Minister contesting from the Thiruvananthapurm Lok Sabha seat said he has only Rs 52,000 in cash, along with movable assets worth Rs 9.26 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 14.4 crore.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who declared assets worth Rs 12.47 crore for his wife, also disclosed that his family assets declined to Rs 36.1 crore from Rs 65 crore revealed in the 2018 Rajya Sabha affidavit. He also declared liabilities of nearly Rs 19.42 crore.

According to the affidavit, the assets include Rs 10.38 crore in bank deposits, negative assets of Rs 45.7 crore in bonds, Rs 41.2 crore in personal loans, and a single vintage two-wheeler (1942 model) valued at Rs 10,000.
