Nazim Zai reviews implementation of NTEP, adult BCG vaccination trial in J&K

Jammu: Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), J&K, Nazim Zai Khan, on Friday chaired a meeting held to review implementation of National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), Sub National Certification Claims and Adult BGC Vaccination Trial in Jammu and Kashmir.
Nazim Zai directed the concerned officers and officials of Health Department to work diligently to achieve the targets set for elimination of tuberculosis from the J&K by 2025 as per National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2017-2025. He instructed them to expedite procurement of pending lab equipment in the Intermediate Reference Laboratory (IRL) of Jammu division for making it operational at the earliest.
He exhorted upon the concerned to conduct external death audit of TB patients and Contact Tracing of active pulmonary TB cases. He also asked for mapping of all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs with Nikshay Portal for providing TB drugs as per the mandate of Central TB division, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Emphasizing the importance of Nikshay Poshan Yojana, the MD directed the officers to bring all the eligible beneficiaries under the ambit of NPY without any fail.
Among others the meeting was attended by the Director Health, Services Kashmir, Director Family Welfare and Immunization, J&K, State Tuberculosis Officer Kashmir, State Immunization Officer J&K besides Chief Medical Officers, District TB Officers and other officers and officials from NHM and Health Department.
