Pulwama: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, led a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of schemes under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district.
Conducted department-wise, the meeting covered Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, and Horticulture and Produce Marketing Corporation (HPMC).
Emphasizing the significance of the ongoing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, a platform connecting with farmers, the DC highlighted its crucial role in maximizing impact across all sectors. Dr. Basharat meticulously examined the achievements during the current financial year, urging departments to expand their outreach and include new families in their schemes, aligning with the overarching goal of the HADP.
The review focused on the physical and financial progress of each scheme, with the DC stressing timely completion of all works and setting quantitative and qualitative targets as essential benchmarks for success.
During the meeting, it was revealed that 36,998 participants engaged in Kisan Sampark Abhiyan phase 1, and 13,389 participants participated in phase 2. Additionally, 10,214 individuals were registered on the Daksh portal. Dr. Basharat directed officials to ensure that no one is left behind in these initiatives.
To enhance the effectiveness of the Daksh portal, the DC emphasized providing training to registered farmers and promoting local value additions to maximize benefits.
A noteworthy achievement during the current financial year includes the approval of 647 cases under HADP, involving a substantial subsidy amount totaling Rs.13.25 crores. This financial support underscores the commitment to fostering agricultural and allied sector development in Pulwama District, marking a strategic shift towards sustainable growth.
