Imphal: Clashes between two different ethnic groups were reported in various places
of Manipur, the official sources said here on Wednesday.
At Sekmai, Imphal West armed miscreants fired upon people and used powerful mortars to target people. People of the area fought back and security personnel rushed in to control the situation.

Defying the curfew, women came out to stage sit in protest over failure of the government to stop
the crisis falling out of the clashes between two ethnic groups since May 3 last.
Some schools which were opened were closed down due to the curfew and all business establishments were also closed down.
Large numbers of Rapid Action force (RAF) and Manipur Police personnel were positioned at
various locations to stop women from coming out in the streets.
