Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said a complaint was received from a parent on Tuesday in Police Station Kreeri wherein he stated that on June 12, his minor son aged about six years old was sexually molested by someone and had threatened the victim for not disclosing the incident to anyone due to which the family did not report to Police Station.
Police later registered an FIR under sections of IPC and POSCO Act and started investigation.
Police said during investigation and after strenuous efforts, the accused was identified as Hashim Tariq Zargar a resident of Sultanpora Kandi at present Kreeri.
Acting swiftly, the Police team arrested the accused involved in the crime and he was taken into custody immediately, police said.
“Further investigation is in process,” they added.
