Srinagar: The Meteorological Office on Wednesday predicted more rain and advised farmers that weather will not be favourable for carrying out farming operations for the next four-five days.
The MeT predicted that a brief spell of rain or thunderstorm may occur on Wednesday at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir towards afternoon or evening.
Rain lashed several parts of Kashmir in the early hours on Wednesday.
“From 15-17th, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir. Some places in Jammu region like Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Samba etc. are likely to receive moderate to heavy thundershower during 15-16th (60% chance),” the MeT spokesperson said.
The weather department advised farmers that weather will not be favourable for carrying out farming operations for the next four-five days.
The weather is likely to improve from June 17.
Kashmir has been witnessing erratic weather this year and the temperature mostly has been hovering several degrees below normal. Even in June, people here are seen wearing woollen clothes.
Last night, Srinagar recorded 15.2 degree Celsius.
The night temperature in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination, was 9.8 degree Celsius and the ski resort of Gulmarg registered 7 .5 degree Celsius.
Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 25.9 degree Celsius.
