Shah stresses on forming Guj, NE-type govts in Karnataka

Bengaluru: In a blistering attack on the Congress hinging on the crushing defeat the party faced in the Northeast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stressed the need for forming a government in Karnataka on the lines of North-East and Gujarat, where the BJP formed majority governments.
“In this election, from North-East to Gujarat … where BJP governments are in existence. On the same lines, an absolute majority government has to be formed in Karnataka under the leadership of Narendra Modi,” he said addressing a rally at Devanahalli, in the outskirts of Bengaluru.
This statement comes in the wake of BJP winning Nagaland and Tripura assembly elections with an absolute majority, and forming a coalition government in Meghalaya by reuniting with its ally the National People’s Party led by Conrad Sangma.
He said: “Only the other day in the far-flung Northeast Congress was weeded out. They have lost so badly that they cannot be seen even through binoculars. In Nagaland they have got zero seats, in Meghalaya, they have got 3 and in Tripura, they have got only 4 seats.”
“Now tell me can they form a government in Karnataka? It was said that the BJP cannot enter the Northeast. But the BJP and the NDA are forming governments in all three states for the second term this time around. Be it Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh or Karnataka the Modi magic sweeps over wherever it is unleashed. The entire nation now wants Modiji and only Modiji as the leader,” he added.
Bashing Congress as a party that supports terrorism, Shah said that the people of Karnataka today should choose between the patriotic BJP and terror sympathizer Congress.
He said: “On one hand, you have the BJP which is a band of patriots and on the other hand, there is Congress which supports the Tukde Tukde gang. On one hand, we are the people who respect Rani Abakka, Maharaja Madkari Nayaka and Kempe Gowda and on the other, you have Congress that sympathises with terrorist organisations like PFI.”
“You need to decide if you need to choose a BJP government which ranks number one in FDI or the Congress and JDS which are number one in corruption. You need to decide if you need to choose a BJP government that banned PFI or Congress, which favours terrorists for vote bank,” he added.
During the UPA rule, terrorists used to infiltrate from Pakistan everyday and cut the neck of the Indian soldiers and take it away, Shah said. “In the Modi ji’s time, he showed courage in Pulwama. In 10 days our army entered their hideouts and eliminated the terrorists and came back, taking revenge,” he said.
“Modi ji has made the country safe. Made the country prosperous. The respect of the country has increased in the whole world,” he added.
Attacking the principal opposition parties in the state, Shah said dynastic parties cannot do any good to Karnataka. “They don’t rise above dynastic politics and think about the poor. The BJP under Modi ji’s leadership is the only party which thinks about the people,” he said.
Shah also said that by voting for JDS it results in the Congress rule as it allies with the grand old party post-elections. “When you vote for JDS they, later, ally with Congress. It results in the rule of the Congress party. Make BJP number one in this region, and we will transform Bengaluru and South Karnataka,” he said.
Further taking on the Congress for using disrespectful words for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “Public discourse initiated by Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is deteriorating every day. Even the AAP has raised slogans wishing death on PM Narendra Modi. But what is the point in wishing death on Narendra Modi when 130 crore people of this nation are praying for his long life?”
He also said: “The more mud you sling at Modiji the more people will make your condition pitiable. Because it is in the very inherent nature of the lotus to spread fragrance in the mud.”
He also pointed out the tug-of-war among the Congress stalwarts like DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah saying that there are at least 10 leaders in Congress who are eyeing the chair of the chief minister.

“Congress dreams to form a government in Karnataka but first let them decide upon who their chief minister will be. Because 10 leaders including Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are standing in the queue to become chief ministers. What good can they do for Karnataka?” he said.
