Mumbai: Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar on Wednesday said that Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme Kharif-2022 has been distributed compensation amount of Rs 1,868.64 crores to the farmers through various insurance companies and directed to the companies to distribute the pending compensation amount of Rs 364 crore immediately.
He was speaking in the review of the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme on today.
Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Eknath Dawle, Principal Secretary of Relief and Rehabilitation Department Asim Kumar Gupta, Commissioner of Agriculture Sunil Chavan among concern were present.
Sattar said that ,so far a total amount of 1868.64 crore has been distributed to 39,88,380 farmers. The remaining compensation amount should be credited to the farmer’s account immediately. He directed the insurance companies to ensure that no farmer who has paid crop insurance is deprived of this benefit.
Representatives of all the five insurance companies namely Indian Agricultural Insurance Company, HDFC Irgo, ICICI Lombard, United India Company and Bajaj Allianz were present in the Mantralaya.
