Saharanpur (UP): Former President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday said that India is progressing rapidly and it is being heard and accepted across the globe which is a proof of it being emerged as a Vishwa Guru.
He said that India getting the presidency of the G-20 group, a group of 20 economically prosperous countries of the world, is a great achievement. “Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo has handed over the presidency of the recently concluded G-20 group to India and it will become its president from December 1,” he said.
Kovind said that on the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who are at war for the last nine months, made an unprecedented ceasefire to evacuate more than 10,000 Indian students trapped there. “This is the symbol of India’s growing power in the world today,” he said.
He said that excluding the Corona crisis period he visited 33 countries of the world in two and a half years as the President. “In India, the heads of foreign countries are no longer welcomed by the heads of government at the airports here. But during my foreign tours, except for three-four countries, the heads of other countries came to welcome me and considered it as their good fortune to sit with me in my car,” he said.
The former President said, “This is a symbol of India’s growing supremacy in the world. Respect towards India is increasing. This is the golden age of India and the country has become a Vishwa Guru.”
