Bandipora : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Saturday chaired a meeting of District Disaster Management Authority to review the status of Disaster preparedness for meeting out any natural calamity in view of the approaching winter.
The meeting also discussed various measures to review the arrangements of winter preparedness ahead of winter season in the district.
While interacting with officers, DC took stock of the preparedness level of different departments regarding winter season and to deal with any disaster and exhorted all concerned to stay prepared.
During the meeting, the DC informed that a disaster management control room is functioning at Mini secretariat Bandipora with the requisite infrastructure and communication network.
He said the district has enough buffer stock to deal with winter ahead.
Dr. Owais directed the officers to address grievances or problems of the public with priority during any emergency.
The DC asked all officers of the district to work in close coordination to tackle disaster or emergency situations and to remain active and alert to deal with any type of urgent situation.
