DC Kishtwar finalises arrangements for Navratri, Mahanavami and Dussehra Festivals

Kishtwar| Oct,10:To ensure the smooth and safe celebration of the upcoming festivals, the District Administration Kishtwar, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma Saturday convened a meeting with officers from various line departments and representatives of religious organisations.
The DC emphasised the need for close inter-departmental coordination to complete all necessary arrangements well in advance of the festivals.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Police Department to ensure proper and sufficient security arrangements across the town and adjoining areas, including at all temples and in and around the Adarsh Dramatic Club. Additionally, he called for intensive night checking and patrolling within the town and its suburbs.
The Jal Shakti (PHE) Department was directed to maintain round-the-clock availability of safe drinking water, including the deployment of chlorinated drinking water tankers at key locations such as Dharamshalla and Adarsh Dramatic Club -the Ramleela venue and at the Chowgan Ground on onVijayadashmi (Dussehra) festival.
The ExEn JPDCL Kishtwar was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and proper lighting arrangements at all temples, at Adarsh Dramatic Club and at notified key locations across the town and its suburbs. Provision of a generator set at the Ramleela venue was also ordered to facilitate the smooth conduct of the religious event.
Executive Officer Municipal Council, Tehsildar, Assistant Director FCS&CA, DO Food Safety and Drugs Control and police were directed to conduct market inspection on regular intervals to keep a check on overcharging and ensure availability of good quality & hygienic food products, including sweets, fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities during the festival period.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the AYUSH Department were directed to establish First Aid Camps and ensure the availability of ambulance services at both the Ramleela and Dussehra venues.
They were also instructed to deploy sufficient medical staff and adequate healthcare provisions to address any medical emergencies or health-related needs during the festivities.
The AD Fire & Emergency Services was directed to deploy fire tenders at strategic locations including Hidyal Chowk, Bus Stand and the Dussehra venue, from 15-10-2026 onwards.
The Deputy Commissioner, while laying special emphasis on cleanliness and sanitation, directed the CEO Municipal Council to ensure cleanliness, lime-lining and waste management en route to and at key temples and venues in Kishtwar town and its suburbs and the concerned BDOs to ensure the same in all blocks across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also laid emphasis on traffic management during the festivals and directed the Police Department, Traffic Police and ARTO to ensure smooth regulation of traffic during the festival period.
The local administrations were asked to make similar arrangements across all subdivisions, tehsils and blocks of the district to facilitate the smooth, safe and hassle-free celebration of the festivals at all levels.
The Sanatan Dharma Sabha, led by its President Mahant Ram Saran Dass Ji Maharaj and other members, actively engaged in discussions and provided valuable suggestions on a range of critical matters.
The Deputy Commissioner, after patiently hearing the issues and grievances of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, assured full support from the District Administration for the hassle-free celebration of the festivals.
The meeting was attended by ADC Pawan Kotwal; CEO KDA Kaiser Bhawani; ACR Idrees Lone; ASP Pardeep Singh;ASP Ops. Nisar Ahmed Khoja; ACD Manoj Kumar; EO MC Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal;ARTO Tasleem Wani; ExEn JPDCL Abdul Hamid; DTI Sandeep Parihar, besides other officers, officials and representatives from Sanatan Dharma Sabha.
