DC Kupwara kick-starts ornamental plantation drive, Directs beautification of the area

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Saturday kick started a plantation drive by planting an Ornamental plant, namely, Lagerstroemia at DC Office Park, here.
The CEO, Municipal Council, Kupwara, AneesChowdhery; JD Planning Abdul Majid; District Floriculture Officer, Mubashir Ahmad Wani; DIO Kupwara Mohammad Yousuf Mir and other concerned were present at the occasion.
The function was organised by the Floriculture Department, Kupwara.
On the occasion, the DC was informed that as many as 3000 ornamental plants are being planted at various places of the district, including Children Park Handwara, Langate Park, Bichurwara Park and Zanana Park Kupwara.
The DC went around the interior area of DC Office premises and directed CEO, Municipal Council Kupwara and District Floriculture Officer, to ensure proper leveling and plantation of ornamental plants in the right side of the DC office gate. He asked them to complete the task within the shortest possible time so that the entry to the DC Office looks good and beautiful.
The DC also inspected the outside area of the premises from the main gate to Banks of LolabNallah near the bridge and gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to make a plan for proper beautification of the area.
He asked them to plaster the walls, paint it with different themes, depicting cultural values of the district. He directed them to proper leveling of the patch of land and beautify it with flowers. He also gave various directions including development of parking space outside the DC office park.
The DC also directed to make a plan for beautification of banks of Lolabnallah near the bridge.
Khalid Jahangir fixed a timeline for officers to complete the task, adding that the Administration has a target to ensure beautification of the surrounding area of DC Office premises which is situated under the lape of lush green forest cover.
