Rajouri :As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Rajouri Friday organised a Vigilance Mela here at the ARTO Office. The event was held on the directions of Secretary, Transport Department, R. Alice Vaz and Transport Commissioner, J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan.

The mela aimed at facilitating on-the-spot scrutiny and disposal of pending applications related to various transport services.

During the mela, around 205 pending applications involving deficiencies in documents, pending fee payments and other queries were scrutinised and disposed of on the spot as per applicable rules.

The services covered included renewal of permits, fitness certificates, transfer of ownership and other transport-related services through the VAHAN and SARATHI portals.

Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Ashiq Rafiq Malik said that the initiative was aimed at providing a convenient platform to enable applicants to resolve pending issues and ensure timely disposal of their applications. He urged applicants to submit complete documentation and fulfil the prescribed formalities to avoid unnecessary delays.

The initiative was organised under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, highlighting the importance of integrity, accountability and transparency in public administration.
