Srinagar: A non-local labourer died while another was injured after an iron rod fell on them during a construction work of a bridge over ring road in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official said that two non-local labourers while working on the bridge were injured when they came under an iron rod at Thukerpora Gudsathu. They were shifted to Sub district hospital Chadoora for treatment.
An official at Sub district hospital Chadoora said that one among them was declared brought dead on arrival while another was shifted to JVC Srinagar for advanced treatment.
He identified the deceased as Lal Chand, son of Jagir Chand and identified the injured as Raju, son of Ram Prasad—both residents of Batoli district Mirzapur Banaras of Uttar Pradesh.
An official said that further investigation has been started in this regard.
