Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Monday directed identification of one Hospital in each Assembly constituency and equipping it in terms of manpower and machinery, so that it is developed as a model health centre and people don’t have to travel long distances for treatment at District Hospitals or capital cities.
Chairing a review meeting of key developmental projects of Chenab Valley comprising Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts here Monday, the Chief Minister directed placing of all diagnostic facilities like X-ray, Ultrasonography, medical tests etc. and placement of adequate staff in terms of Doctors and paramedical staff at these designated hospitals in every constituency so that people don’t have to travel long distances in case of emergencies or bad weather.
Expressing dismay over the low spending reported in these districts so far, the Chief Minister directed Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to conduct a detailed tour of the region and fix the bottlenecks coming in the way of efficient execution of the developmental projects. She directed him to monitor the execution of developmental works in the region and consult the local representatives wherever necessary.
