CM for identifying one Hospital to be developed as a model in each constituency in Chenab valley

Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Monday directed identification of one Hospital in each Assembly constituency and equipping it in terms of manpower and machinery, so that it is developed as a model health centre and people don’t have to travel long distances for treatment at District Hospitals or capital cities.
Chairing a review meeting of key developmental projects of Chenab Valley comprising Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts here Monday, the Chief Minister directed placing of all diagnostic facilities like X-ray, Ultrasonography, medical tests etc. and placement of adequate staff in terms of Doctors and paramedical staff at these designated hospitals in every constituency so that people don’t have to travel long distances in case of emergencies or bad weather.
Expressing dismay over the low spending reported in these districts so far, the Chief Minister directed Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to conduct a detailed tour of the region and fix the bottlenecks coming in the way of efficient execution of the developmental projects. She directed him to monitor the execution of developmental works in the region and consult the local representatives wherever necessary.
The Chief Minister directed pacing up of work on the Rs.27.00 crore Degree College, Revenue Complex and Indoor Stadium at Gool. She also asked for completion of the second floor of the Health Centre at far flung Bimdassa village at the earliest. She also directed harnessing wind energy at Thatarkar and tourist facilities at Tata Pani.
In a specific direction, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary, B.B. Vyas to hold a meeting with BRO authorities shortly to pace up the works on the National Highway and other projects being executed by the BRO.
The Chief Minister also directed widening of the bridge in Banihal town to overcome the frequent jamming on the National Highway. She also directed completion of remaining work on the Banihal – Mangat Mahoo road for which she fixed December 31 as completion deadline.
Mehbooba Mufti also directed completion of work on all the six Dak Bunglows in the area besides, completion of works at various Colleges, Hospitals, schools and other projects of infrastructure development.
The meeting was informed that with the completion of Khilani Grid station, power supply in the region has stabilised by a great measure. Two more grid stations at Bhalessa and Changa are coming up in a year’s time which would further improve power distribution in the area, the meeting was informed.
Legislators of these districts; Chief Secretary, B.B. Vyas; Administrative Secretaries of various Departments and other officers were present in the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, M. K. Bhandari, Deputy Commissioners and District Officers of these Districts also attended the meeting via video conference.
