New Delhi: A Parliamentary delegation led by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today left for Russia on a five-day visit. The delegation includes Virendra Kumar, Hema Malini, Naleen Kumar Kateel (all BJP), CPI-MP Mohammed Salim and C.P. Narayanan (CPI). During their stay in the Russian Federation, the delegation will meet V.V. Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma and Ms. V.I. Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council. Lok Sabha Speaker Ms Mahajan – as a rare honour – will also address the State Duma on July 12.
“The Indian Parliamentary Delegation will also hold extensive discussions with their Russian Federation counterpart in the India-Russia Parliamentary Commission on 11 July, 2017,” a release from Lok Sabha said. The delegation, that also includes senior officials from Lok Sabha Secretariat, will also visit Saint Petersburg, the release said.
