2 hit and run cases solved in Kulgam, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has solved two hit and run cases and arrested the accused persons involved in the commission of crime in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday police said “ Police Station Qazigund received inputs about three persons being hit on a motorcycle by an unknown vehicle at Gundipora Qazigund and two of them namely Nisar Ahmad Thokar and Javid Ahmad Thokar both the sons of Abdul Gani Thokar residents of Sopat Tengpora having died on spot”, adding that “ the injured person namely Mushtaq Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Rasool Najar resident of Sopat Tangpora was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment of his injuries”.
Stating that the driver of the vehicle namely Bilal Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Nabi Wani resident of Chamalvas Banihal was arrested and the vehicle bearing registration number JK01F-8968 was also seized. “ The above named accused was shifted to police station where he remains in custody”, reads the statement further.
Police in it’s statement also said that in yet another similar incident, Police Station Qaimoh received information that a vehicle bearing registration No. JK02AB-0099 hit and injured three pedestrians namely Rumeena Jan, Mubeena Akther and Jasim Mohammad Dar all the residents of Gufbal Qaimoh.
Stating that the above named injured persons were immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries, police in the above referred statement further said that the driver of the vehicle namely Ghulam Jeelani son of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Firdous Colony Buchpora Srinagar was arrested and the vehicle involved in the commission of offence was also seized.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police said “cases under relevant section of law stands registered in respective police stations and investigation have been initiated”
