Srinagar: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths, Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered a total of 79 FIRs ,arrested 169 violators, and penalised 789 offenders with a fine of Rs 110,660/- in the last 24 hours in Kashmir. The police is taking the measures to implement lockdown restrictions announced by the Government for containing community transmissions of the covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued across Kashmir to ensure strict adherence to SOPs/ guidelines announced by the government for containing the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. In the concluding para of the statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people, reiterating therein that the special drive shall remain continue across Kashmir to strengthen the safety measures.
