Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Party Vice President Omar Abdullah in their message on the observance of Youm-e-Ashura said the day is of great Importance in view of the great sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Husain (AS), saying the day commemorates the Journey of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) towards immortality and eternalization.
In his message Party President said the day marks the great sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Husain AS, besides teaching the message of bravery, perseverance and struggle to all the coming generations, it also underscores the fact that falsehood is bound to perish and has a limited existence “ Youm-e –Ashura is of great historical and idealistic importance as it was on this day that the grand-son of Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Imam Husain (AS) sacrificed his life for the sake of cardinal principles laid down by Holy messenger of Islam (SAW). The great Imam eternalized the message of Holy messenger of Islam (SAW) by choosing to sacrifice his own life. We should make it a point to pray on this day for the salvation of humanity from the prevailing COVID-19 crises. May the Almighty accept our sincere supplications,” he said.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, In his message, the Party Vice President said that Hazrat Imam Husain elevated the stature of humanity and demarcated good from evil. “His struggle is emblematical of the power of truth and piousness, the virtues which Imam Husain (AS) himself personified. He also immortalized the fact that those who strive and sacrifice in the way for the sake of truth, and justice never die. It is the supreme sacrifice of Imam (AS) and 72 of his revered followers that revitalized the teachings of Islam. I take this opportunity to pray for the healthier times, May almighty salvage us from the prevailing pandemic induced crises. May Almighty usher in healthier times and salvage humanity from the worst ever public health crises,” he said.
