Kishtwar/June,3: Minister of state for Transport, Revenue, R&B, Agriculture Production, Youth Services and Sports, Sunil Sharma Tuesday distributed Motorized Tricycles among the specially abled persons at an awareness program organized by Department of Social Welfare.
Minister appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare department and State Rehabilitation Council for improving the living standards of under privileged segments of the society by providing them various facilities. He also hailed them for providing these motorized tricycles to the physically challenged thus making their lives comfortable.
Social Welfare Officer described in detail several schemes being implemented in the district like AASRA, SMAS, Laadli Beti, BPBB, ICPS and related schemes envisaging socio-economic empowerment of needy people.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister appreciated Deputy Commissioner and concerned officers for effective implementation of social security schemes.
Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Nabi Balwan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Chief Planning Oficer, District Social Welfare Officer, CMO, DYSSO, CAO besides locals were present on the occasion.
