New Delhi, Jun 6: Rainfall in the country during southwest monsoon season (June to September) is most likely to be normal this year.
The second stage forecast of southwest monsoon seasonal rainfall was issued here today by Indian Meteorological Department(IMD).
IMD has forecast that quantitatively, the monsoon seasonal rainfall for the country as a whole is likely to be 98 per cent of the Long Period Average (LPA) with an error of ± 4 per cent.
‘Rainfall over the country as a whole for the 2017 southwest monsoon season (June to September) is most likely to be normal (96 per cent to 104 per cent of long period average (LPA)),’ the Met Department stated.
Quantitatively, monsoon season rainfall for the country as a whole is likely to be 98 per cent of the LPA with a model error of ±4 per cent, the IMD said.
