Srinagar | November 06: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted searches at approximately 10 locations across the Valley on Friday in connection with an alleged terror recruitment module involved in radicalising youth via social media platforms.
The raids targeted residential premises in Budgam, Safakadal, and Zainakote in Srinagar, as well as Bijbehara and Mattan in Anantnag, and parts of Pulwama, officials said.
The operation was carried out by CIK teams in coordination with local police and revenue officials in the presence of executive magistrates. The case, registered under FIR No. 07/2023 at Police Station CIK Srinagar, focuses on an online network attempting to radicalise and recruit Kashmiri youth into proscribed terrorist outfits, reports said.
Investigating officers launched the crackdown following inputs indicating that Pakistan-based operatives, working alongside handlers from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other banned organizations, were actively attempting to lure local youth into militant activities. Further investigation into the module remains underway, sources said.
