Around 160 students participate in debate on ‘One Nation, One Election’

Ramban | Nov, 04:MY Bharat Ramban, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organised the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2027 at ITI RambanTuesday, with the objective of promoting democratic values, constitutional awareness and active participation of youth in the democratic process.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 160 students from across the district, including students from Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, GDC Banihal and ITI Ramban.

The central theme of the programme was “One Nation, One Election”, on which young participants engaged in debate and meaningful discussions, presenting their views and perspectives on the subject. The platform provided an opportunity to students to strengthen their understanding of democratic processes and parliamentary practices.

Speaking on the occasion, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Doda-Ramban, Sandeep Sharma, encouraged the participants to actively engage in youth-oriented programmes and initiatives. He highlighted the role of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament in nurturing leadership qualities, critical thinking, public speaking skills and democratic responsibility among young people.

He further emphasised that MY Bharat Ramban would organise more such programmes in peripheral and far-flung areas of the district to ensure wider participation and equal opportunities for students from remote and underserved educational institutions.

The programme concluded with a call to youth to become informed, responsible and active citizens and contribute towards realising the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
