Rajesh takes stock of local issues, assures prompt redressal of public grievances

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma Tuesday presided over Block Diwas here at Panchayat Janglote South in Block Kathua. He interacted with former PRI representatives and locals to take stock of their issues and grievances.

The participants demanded completion of the pending portion of the main Janglote road, PMAY benefits to eligible left-out families, meeting shortage of staff in the PHE Mechanical wing, commissioning of tubewells under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), maintenance of the local park and inclusion of projected developmental works in the CAPEX budget.

Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that a field report would be obtained from the Executive Engineer, PWD, to identify any bottlenecks and expedite the execution of the remaining work on the main Janglote road.

He directed the concerned BDO to camp in the area and undertake a thorough exercise to identify genuine and eligible beneficiaries left out under PMAY, ensuring that no deserving household is deprived of the scheme’s benefits.

The DC also directed the Executive Engineer PHE to ensure regular supply of potable drinking water to the habitation and fix responsibility for any lapses in service delivery. He further stressed the need for expediting the commissioning of pending JJM tubewells to strengthen drinking water infrastructure.

Issues pertaining to the maintenance of the park and prioritisation of local developmental works were also taken up for necessary action by the concerned departments.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers to give due priority to public grievances and ensure their prompt resolution through coordinated efforts and regular field visits.

Additional District Development Commissioner Surinder Mohan Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Development Gulshan Kumar; Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur, besides other district and sectoral officers, were also present.
