Baramulla | Oct, 28: Two young men died after being buried under a mound of sand during extraction in the Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The duo was extracting sand in Dachanpara, Rafiabad, when the sand mound suddenly collapsed, trapping them underneath, officials said. Their bodies remained buried overnight and were recovered early the following morning, reports said.
The deceased have been identified as Javid Ahmed Mir (28) and Mohammad Anees Malik (29), both residents of Dachanpara. Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident and launched an investigation, officials said.
