Srinagar|Oct, 24: Higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh light snowfall on Saturday, including Sinthan Top and Peer Ki Gali, while the Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast largely dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir till October 31.
The weather department has, however, forecast the possibility of brief light rainfall in a few districts on the afternoon of October 25. Generally cloudy conditions, with isolated light rain in the plains and light snowfall in higher reaches, are likely between November 1 and 5.
Gulmarg recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the Valley at 1.6°C, while Srinagar registered a minimum of 6.6°C, around 2.8 degrees above the seasonal normal.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 2.6°C, two degrees above normal. Qazigund registered 7.2°C, while Kupwara and Kokernag recorded minimum temperatures of 4.6°C and 7°C, respectively.
In Jammu division, Jammu city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.7°C and a minimum of 15.5°C, making it the warmest among the locations highlighted in the department’s data.
The Meteorological Centre has advised farmers to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations, with no prolonged wet spell indicated in the forecast through the end of October.
The forecast suggests a largely dry final week of October, although conditions may turn cloudy with isolated precipitation in the first five days of November.
