Srinagar | October, 22: In view of the third edition of the Kashmir Marathon 2026, traffic restrictions and route diversions will be enforced across Srinagar on October 25 to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Officials said several major thoroughfares, including Residency Road and Boulevard Road, will remain closed to general traffic during specified morning and afternoon hours. According to a traffic police advisory, essential alternate routes have been designated for commuters, while heavy motor vehicles will face restrictions starting the evening of October 24. “Traffic cut-off points will include Lal Mandi, Jahangir Chowk, Mamta Crossing and Ikhwan Chowk from 5:00 AM to 8:30 AM,” the advisory reads, adding that “ambulances and other emergency vehicles will be allowed priority passage through the shortest possible routes.” Motorists and students appearing in examinations are advised to plan their movement accordingly.
