Smooth Arrangements in Place for 2.7 Lakh Students Across J&K

Srinagar | October, 19: Nearly 97,000 students appeared for the annual regular Class 10th examinations on Monday, marking the commencement of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) exams.
Officials said the examination was successfully held across 1,003 designated centers established in Kashmir and select winter-zone areas of the Jammu division. Reports said that around 97,500 candidates have been enrolled for the Class 10th board exams this year, comprising 72,232 students from the Kashmir division and 25,268 from the winter zones of the Jammu division. Overall, at least 2,70,000 students have registered to appear in the annual board examinations for the 10th, 11th, and 12th standards combined.
JKBOSE Chairman, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh had said that 2,70,000 students have been enrolled for exams in all three classes. “There are 10 districts of the Kashmir region and six districts of winter zone areas of Jammu division,” he said. He further stated that the Board has set up 2,402 exam centers for all three classes. “We have appointed the staff including superintendents, deputy superintendents and supervisors. So, that kind of process has already been completed.”
Emphasizing that all administrative arrangements were completed ahead of schedule, Sheikh offered words of encouragement to the younger students. “The students in 11th and 12th have already had experience. But the students who are coming in 10th exams, I would like to request them not to worry. This is a normal exam. There is no need to worry. The papers are also normal.” He added that the question papers are designed in accordance with the benchmark of competencies set up in the National Education Policy 2020.
