Kishtwar | October, 19: Kishtwar Police have successfully solved the murder case of a missing Special Police Officer (SPO) whose body was recovered from a hidden pit in the Trigam forest area, arresting two suspects in connection with the crime.
Officials said SPO Bashir Ahmed had been reported missing along with his service rifle from the Trigam police picket on October 15, prompting an extensive joint search operation. During search operations on October 16, police teams first located the missing service weapon and subsequently exhumed the officer’s body from a buried nallah pit in the Seran Wani area of the Trigam forest. Following the discovery, an official murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Kishtwar.
Investigations led to the identification and arrest of two key suspects, Bashir Ahmed Dar and Nazir Ahmed Dar, both residents of Seran Wani, Trigam. Officials said detailed questioning revealed the underlying murder conspiracy, leading directly to the recovery of the weapon of offense alongside the victim’s hidden belongings.
