Srinagar|Oct, 19: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of Northern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of Army units deployed in forward areas of North Kashmir during his visit to the region, the Army said in a post on social media.
The Army Commander commended the troops for their professionalism and operational acumen, while stressing the importance of rigorous training, innovation and technology-driven capability enhancement to strengthen operational readiness.
According to the Army spokesperson, Lt Gen Sharma emphasised the need to maintain preparedness for operational requirements, particularly in view of the forthcoming winter season and the challenges associated with it.
The visit comes as the Army reviews the readiness of its forward formations ahead of winter, when harsh weather conditions can pose additional challenges to operations in the region.
