Director stresses wider use of Rajbhasha in official communication
Srinagar : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Wednesday concluded its Hindi Pakhwada celebrations with a valedictory ceremony and felicitation of winners and participants who excelled in various competitions and Hindi language examinations.
The Rajbhasha Cell organized a program focused on promoting the use of Hindi in official communication and enhancing its role in the administrative functions of the institute. The valedictory ceremony was led by Prof. Anurag Misra, Director of NIT Srinagar, with Dr. Satish Vimal, a renowned multilingual writer and broadcaster, serving as the Guest of Honour. The event saw participation from various dignitaries, including faculty members and administrative staff, highlighting a collective commitment to strengthening Hindi’s presence in official settings. Prof. Misra commended the Rajbhasha Cell for its initiatives, emphasizing that ongoing efforts in promoting Hindi would enhance official communication and coordination within the institution. He noted that such initiatives not only preserve linguistic identity but also promote inclusivity. Dr. Vimal echoed these sentiments, underscoring the significance of language in cultural preservation and social cohesion, particularly in the linguistically diverse region of Kashmir. Dr. R.P. Shukla acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Rajbhasha Cell and the enthusiastic participation of faculty and staff during the Hindi Pakhwada. The program included a felicitation ceremony where certificates and mementoes were awarded to winners of various competitions, including the Parangat and Praveen examinations, as well as the Administrative Vocabulary and Essay Writing competitions. Notable achievers included Towheed Hussain, who excelled in multiple categories, and Faisal Irshad Ganai, who topped the Praveen Examination. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, expressing appreciation for the contributions of all involved in making the Hindi Pakhwada celebrations a success.
