DAJ conducts extensive field visit in Udhampur District

Jammu, : Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Jammu Anil Gupta Wednesday  conducted an extensive field visit in Udhampur district. He reviewed the ongoing activities and implementation of departmental initiatives in the region.

The Director was accompanied by local Chief Agriculture Officer Vikas Padha, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Darshan Kumar along with Agriculture Extension Officers, Junior Agriculture Extension Officers, Agriculture Extension Assistants and other field staff of the Department.

The Director visited the Zonal Agriculture Office at Jib and chaired a review meeting with the zonal staff. He took detailed feedback on the ongoing departmental activities, implementation of the schemes and the progress of field-level interventions.

The Director also interacted with local farmers from village KambalDanga. He sought feedback regarding the benefits being provided to the local farmers under various schemes and programmes of the Agriculture Department.

Afterwards, the Director inspected the Zonal Seed Store and took stock of seed availability, storage arrangements and the mechanism for timely and proper distribution of quality seed to farmers. He also distributed mustard mini-kits among beneficiary farmers.

The Director also participated as a member of the committee constituted for the inspection of the proposed land site for the establishment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the District. The Committee inspected the site and reviewed its suitability with regard to the requirements and facilities envisaged for the proposed Kendra.

Later, Anil Gupta chaired a meeting of the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) at the office of the Chief Agriculture Officer. The meeting reviewed the physical and financial progress under CAPEX, NABARD, HADP and JKCIP.
