Dogra, Samad steady hosts after early setbacks on Day 2

Srinagar, Oct 02: Jammu and Kashmir reached 70 for four at tea on the second day of the Irani Cup against the Rest of India at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium here on Friday, trailing by 167 runs.

Resuming their first innings at 21 for two, J&K, as per the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), lost two more wickets in the morning session, with Shubham Khajuria dismissed for four and Qamran Iqbal falling for 24.

The hosts were reduced to 37 for four before Paras Dogra and Abdul Samad steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, taking J&K to 70 for four at the tea interval.

Rest of India were bowled out for 237 in their first innings on the opening day, with Smaran Ravichandran top-scoring with 68. For J&K, Sunil Kumar and Lone Nasir Muzaffar claimed three wickets each, while Umar Nazir Mir picked up two.

J&K will look to build on the Dogra-Samad partnership in the final session and reduce the first-innings deficit.
