Srinagar, Sept 17: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally cloudy weather with brief spells of rain, thundershowers and gusty winds at many places on Wednesday, according to the Meteorological Department.
Earlier, fresh snowfall was witnessed at Kabul Gali in north Kashmir’s Gurez Valley, while widespread rain lashed Kashmir, with several areas of south Kashmir receiving heavy showers.
The MeT Srinagar forecast said that from September 18 to 30, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, with brief spells of rain likely at some places. It added that September 26-27 may remain generally cloudy, with brief spells of rain at a few places.
The department has issued an advisory for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at a few places during September 17-18.
Farmers have been advised to ensure safe storage of harvested crops. The MeT said harvesting of apples and paddy, along with other agricultural operations, may continue from September 18.
